Open RFID timing hardware
Agnostic RfidHardware that works with your stack
No vendor lock-in. Mix CloudBox, antennas, and timing tags with the readers and software you already use, without forced bundles, permanency contracts, or closed hardware restrictions.
CloudBox system
A SMARTER, LOWER-COST FIELD SETUP FOR RFID TIMING
CloudBox helps you build a lower-cost RFID timing setup by letting you choose the reader that fits your budget and operation, while adding the field features that matter: battery, 4G, GPS, protocol control, and cloud connectivity.
Get connectivity and position visibility without bolting on extra external modules.
Built for full race-day operation, up to 12 hours of continuous use
CloudBox adds protocol, device control, and field-friendly operation around your RFID reader
CLOUDBOX MOBILE CONTROL
CONTROL CloudBox from your smartphone
Use the CloudBox mobile interface to check device health, configure the setup, apply passing filters, and test antennas directly from the phone before race pressure starts.
Configure
Adjust reader settings, network and Wi-Fi access, 4G SIM PIN, and core device behavior directly from the mobile control interface.
Status
Check battery, connectivity, GPS, temperature, and last activity before race operations begin.
Filter
Apply bib filters and validation logic so only the passings that matter move into the timing workflow.
Test
Validate antenna behavior and reader response before the event opens to participants.
Cloud connection
Connect local timing capture to RUFUS Cloud
CloudBox can stay local when needed and plug into RUFUS Cloud when you need remote visibility, shared supervision, and publication flow built around the same timing operation.
CloudBox + RUFUS Cloud
BIND CLOUDBOX TO THE CLOUD
Connect in seconds with a binding token
Generate a token in your RUFUS Cloud account, paste it into the CloudBox Cloud section, and bind the device instantly to unlock remote visibility, synchronization, and cloud-based control.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE Floor coverage
FLOOR ANTENNAS BUILT FOR REAL RACE DAY
Built for running, cycling, MTB, and other high-footfall race formats, our foldable floor antennas combine strong read performance, fast deployment, and easy transport in one budget-friendly race-day setup.

Split and finish coverage
Side antenna
A high-gain side antenna for triathlons, duathlons, aquathlons, open-water finishes, and other split or finish setups where precise side coverage matters.
Its sealed ABS housing is built for outdoor race conditions and tripod-based deployment, giving timers a reliable mat-free option for controlled side reads.

High-speed coverage
Aerial antenna
Purpose-built for road cycling, motocross, enduro, karting, and other high-speed timing setups where stable overhead detection matters.
Robust, weather-protected, and easy to mount on tripods or timing arches, it gives timers a dependable aerial solution for fast-moving passive-tag reads.

REAL SETUPS FOR REAL RACE-DAY
Ten short walkthroughs showing how tags, antennas, CloudBox, and software come together across the race formats timers handle most often.
FAQ
KNOW MORE ABOUT THE RUFUS RFID STACK
Most RFID questions come down to reader freedom, deployment geometry, chip format, and how open the hardware layer stays as your operation grows.
WHAT MAKES CLOUDBOX DIFFERENT FROM CLOSED TIMING BOXES?
CloudBox is built as an open field-control layer. You can choose the RFID reader that fits your budget and setup, run sessions locally, control the system from the phone, and connect to RUFUS Cloud only when you want remote visibility and shared supervision.
CAN I USE RUFUS RFID WITH MY CURRENT READERS OR SOFTWARE?
Yes. The RUFUS RFID layer is designed to stay flexible. CloudBox is reader-agnostic, RUFUS antennas and tags can be used in mixed setups, and custom connected devices can integrate through the Public API instead of forcing a full hardware or software replacement from day one.
WHEN SHOULD I USE FLOOR, SIDE, OR AERIAL ANTENNAS?
Floor antennas are the best fit for high-footfall race formats and fast deployability. Side antennas work well for mat-less split or finish points where controlled side coverage matters. Aerial antennas are built for high-speed use cases like road cycling, motocross, enduro, and karting where stable overhead detection is critical.
WHY DOES THE RUFUS WET CHIP PROFILE MATTER?
Because sports timing happens close to the athlete’s body, under motion, and in tougher read conditions than standard inventory use. The RUFUS wet profile is tuned for stronger body-near performance and can be used directly on the bib number without separation foam, helping keep production simpler and more cost-efficient.
CAN CLOUDBOX WORK OFFLINE AND SYNC LATER?
Yes. CloudBox can run locally when internet access is limited or unavailable, then bind to RUFUS Cloud to send timing passings and system status when remote monitoring, cloud storage, or shared supervision becomes useful.
DO I NEED RUFUS CLOUD TO START USING THE HARDWARE?
No. You can start with the hardware layer itself and add the cloud side later. The idea is to let timers build an open RFID setup first, then connect devices, remote visibility, and publication workflows when the event or business actually needs them.
HOW DO I BIND A CLOUDBOX TO RUFUS CLOUD?
Generate a bind token in your RUFUS Cloud account, paste it into the Cloud section of the CloudBox interface, and bind the device. Once connected, the CloudBox can start sending passings and status data to the cloud for remote monitoring and cloud-based timing workflows.
WHAT CAN I SEE REMOTELY ONCE CLOUDBOX IS CONNECTED?
Once bound, you can monitor device health and field readiness remotely, including connectivity, battery, GPS position, temperature, operation mode, sessions, and the latest passings from your cloud account.
